PERSONAL PROJECT:

PERSONAL PROJECT: A BOOK ABOUT MYSELF

After much delay, I had finally completed another personal project of mine. This time around, this project is more on the words than the pictures. Initially I thought that I would like to reshoot all the pictures to make them relevant to the words written, but sadly I have to scrap the idea in the end as I simply do not have much time to do so.

Anyway, for those who is interested, you may find my new personal book here. This is a book with collection of passages, stories and thoughts of mine throughout the years. You may get to know me in person a little more by reading them (I guess…). Sorry that it was written in Chinese instead of English. Similar to my previous Japan Travel Photobook, I felt more comfortable in expressing myself in Chinese words than English.

That’s all for now. Hopefully I’ll have time to complete some other projects this year, though I do not really have any plan yet at the moment. Till then, thank you.

Books x Photography

Just completed a small project recently. Nothing major, just spending some time playing with my camera while I am free and home alone. Did some table top pictures for some of the books that I am reading lately (or going to read soon, hopefully), and adding a little twist to the shoot by introducing some extra elements that juxtapose or compliment the books’ title.

It was a fun little project, and I’ll probably keep adding more pictures to it as my book collections keep growing day after day. All pictures were taken with the Fujifilm X100F with the TCL-X100 conversion lens. First time toying with this and still exploring it’s possibilities. Till then, hope you enjoy the pictures and the books, let me know if you have any questions and I will be glad to help.

Personal Project: Photobook on my Japan Trip

I have completed a personal project for this year, which is to publish a photobook about my travel experience in Japan. Technically speaking, this is not a travel book, nor a photography book, it’s a bit of both with some writings from me that share some of my thoughts, feelings and emotions while travelling to the land of the rising sun.

I would like to apologize that this book was written in Chinese instead of English. I’m more comfortable to write in Chinese, as I felt that I can express myself better through this language. Nevertheless, I’ll try to translate some of the writings and share through this blog in the future.

I had made similar books before this which incorporate my very own writings and photographs. I like to write and share about things that I learn, my opinions and so on. I like photography, and I like to travel. Hence, this book was born by merging my interest in these three activities / hobbies.

For those who are interested to check it out, please feel free to click on the link here to download and read on your own leisure. Hope you enjoy this book of mine. Thank you and have a nice day!

Goodbye 2016

2016 is finally coming to an end. I had spent some time tidying my dry cabinet and other camera stuffs. There weren’t a lot of stuffs which I would like to get rid of, I wonder if it’s considered a good news or bad news? Anyway, nothing much happened in my gear department other than getting myself two film cameras and upgrading/replacing a few lenses throughout the year.

What I have at the moment covers most of my shooting requirement and needs. I was lusting for a compact camera for daily use, and another digital body which can cover the performance gap of my Leica M. After much consideration, I guess I will just wait it out for the mean time. They are good to have but not a must have for me, at least for now. For next year, probably nothing much will change to my gear department other than the possibilities of getting one of these two items into my arsenal.

As for personal projects, I’m a bit off schedule and didn’t finished quite as well as I would preferred. I wasn’t able to do much with video this year, and I doubt I will have time for it next year too. Sigh. I will try to clear a few personal projects in the beginning of the year, and hopefully when my study starts, it won’t take up too much of my time. Anyway, I’m glad that I had managed to complete two rather important project for me, which is photographing my mother and my grandmother. Hopefully I can keep up the momentum on this and continue to do so.

I will be getting myself off from Flipboard, 500px and Instagram in 2017. My personal Instagram account will still be running, but I will cease all sharing on “Funny Bunny Photography” for the time being. There are just too many things to juggle around and sorry to say that I’m not able to keep up with all of them. I will talk a little bit more about why I made this decision in future post.

Oh yes, I’d proposed to my girlfriend and got engaged! (Non-photography related, whoops) That’s all for now, keep shooting folks and wishing you a great year ahead in 2017. Till then.
